The past is merely a tool for us to learn, and unlearn from so that we can leap into our future.
A little of 12 years ago when I decided to take up Architecture Studies, without knowing why I did that.
Extensive travels during the course of architecture , readings, lectures , exposure to various cultures opened up my perception about this design principle. I finally realised what design can do when I completed my first project “The Open House”. Amazingly design has that ability to create a new social pattern and bring about an improvement in your quality of living.
nce you see what design can do , you cannot un see it. And this was the moment I realised why I had gotten into this profession. The initial years were a struggle to look for the right kind of projects to express yourself, but these were the learning years.
We made several mistakes, learnt from them and progressed from one project to the other- alas design is an ever evolving process and there is never a single solution to a problem. The past is merely a tool for us to learn, and unlearn from so that we can leap into our future.
Design is omnipresent and it touches each and every aspect of being and becomes an inherent part of our lifestyle.
We design every project with an extremely passionate and innovative eye and believe in the simplicity of design to create beautiful complex spaces which appeal to its social and physical context.
Creating spaces that are multi functional, high on utility and sensitive to the requirements of the end user. Design is omnipresent and it touches each and every aspect of being and becomes an inherent part of our lifestyle.
What we design is not merely to please the eye but to evoke an emotion, a response to the shapes, materials, textures and colours.
We look at diverse sources for inspiration; be literature, art, music or the micro-moments of everyday life. Observation, perception and its seamless transition to functional objects is a process we look up to. In a market driven by “Trends” we are trying to create a fresh outlook to decipher and deconstruct design.
The very nature of design implies a multidisciplinary perspective where different points of view intersect and collaborate with each other.
We follow an exhaustive but yet meditative research driven process of design, and draw inspiration from just about anything that pleases us.
We are all growing everyday , progressing , falling, getting up again , trying new things , failing again. Learning from the amazing team of contractors , carpenter vendors you meet everyday.
The next phase sees us concentrating on fewer but well detailed projects within affordable budgets especially in the residential and commercial sector. Doing work that we truly enjoy narrating and building. The very nature of design implies a multidisciplinary perspective where different points of view intersect and collaborate with each other. As the iconic 20th century American designer Richard Buckminster Fuller said, “A designer is an emerging synthesis of artist, inventor, mechanic, objective economist and evolutionary strategist.
“As a design studio we believe in collaborations, whether it is with other architects or designers or even artisans and craftsmen. We are consciously promoting local crafts and workmanship in an attempt to show Indian craft in a whole new modern affordable light. We see ourselves collaborating with several professionals from the industry and make good design available and affordable- by just being true to ourselves!
